In addition, each specialist (experienced user) has his own opinion and debate about this – a lot of things arise. Therefore, all that is written below is purely my subjective opinion, based on my personal experience.
In any case, I recommend the following: you will find out what kind of equipment you have ( you gave the links to the necessary utilities above, you can use the same AIDA64, or Speccy) , then go to the device’s official website and see the manufacturer’s recommended operating temperatures!
Generally speaking, the following boundaries can be distinguished.
I consider the normal temperature for the processor to be in the range of 30-45 ° C without load, and up to 55-60 ° C with heavy load (games, video encoding, graphics, etc.).
If the temperature rises above 60 ° C – I recommend that you carefully look at the maximum heating values. The fact is that at about this mark (above 65 ° C) problems with brakes may begin – the processor starts to work more slowly to lower the temperature (throttling – skipping clock cycles) .
As for laptops : some models are designed to heat up to 70-85 ° C under load (gaming). Despite the fact that this is allowed by the manufacturer, I personally do not consider this a normal phenomenon, and I recommend using cooling coasters in this case.
For an example, I will give temperatures for Intel Core i3, i5 and i7 Skylake, Ivy Bridge, Sandy Bridge, Haswell processors (which are the most popular on the market today):
- 30-40 ° C – normal temperature under light load: the browser is working, some notepad, music player;
- 40-60 ° C – normal temperature in load mode: running game, video encoding, file archiving, etc .;
- up to 70 ° C-85 ° C – maximum operating temperature allowed by Intel.

For video card
Everything is more complicated here … The fact is that what kind of video card you have is very important: what kind of model, what type of cooling is installed, what it is for.
If you take it on average , then in a simple video card should not warm above 35-40 ° C (degrees Celsius). Under load – up to 50-60 ° C (for some older video cards – this temperature may already be critical!).
If the temperature in the load, for example, when the game is running,goes beyond 70 ° C – there may be a radiator defect, a problem with the cooler, or alternatively, thermal grease is poorly applied.
As for video cards for laptops, the values can be slightly higher, about 5-10 ° C.
Many experienced users will object to me that modern video card chips (for example, NVidia GTX) keep the temperature up to 105 ° C – but this is a critical temperature, after which the computer either freezes or shuts down (protection will work).
By the way, I’ll add that at a constant load temperature above 75 ° C – the life of your video card is significantly reduced!
For hard drive
The first thing I want to say is that for a hard drive it is bad, both very high temperature and low.
The fact is that a hard drive is a mechanical device, and when the temperature rises, the materials expand (at low – narrowing), which is extremely undesirable for such a high-precision device to work.
Generally speaking, I would single out several ranges for disks:
- Normal: 28-40 ° C . The most common temperature range, which is most often indicated by all disk manufacturers (plus or minus a couple of degrees). If there are no problems with air circulation inside the device, and the hard drive does not stand too close to other heat sources, then in most cases it is not necessary to specifically cool it, the temperature will be normal anyway (I will not take into account exceptional cases) .
- Elevated: 42-52 ° C . If the temperature has exceeded 45 ° C – there is reason to check the cooling system: ventilation holes, coolers. If the temperature rose during the hot summer months and did not exceed 50 ° C – then, in principle, there are no strong reasons for concern.
- Critical above 55 C ° . If the temperature has exceeded 50 ° C, then you cannot use the disk constantly in this range, it will not last for a long time (in any case, its service life is greatly reduced) . First of all, I recommend: clean the cooling system from dust, install the drive away from other devices, put an additional cooler.
- Poor: less than 20 C ° . In general, unless you specifically aim to lower the temperature of the HDD below 20 ° C , then it is almost impossible to achieve this in an ordinary heated living room with an ordinary computer / laptop! Therefore, to give any recommendations here is unnecessary …
